This is my map I've made and a few models to be used as well for unit 7.

The idea for the level is to have an art gallery that contains stuff from my life as I've grown up. I had a different design before of a map, were the map was in the form of a loop that was to symbolise life starting again but instead I decided to do a straight line to show that life can end at any time and that the future is unpredictable. An issue I had is that in Unreal you can see through the whole thing, to fix that I plan to use use target lights and/or triggers to make it so you can only see what I want the user to see. A feature I'm debating having in the game is having audio play for the user when the user is near an item or if the user interacts with something, I got inspiration for this and other aspects from The Stanley Parable. One thing for which I don't know what I want to do is in VR for the movement controls as I don't know if I want to use teleportation to get around or if I should use analogue sticks. An issue I'll encounter is the coding as the only languages I know are HTML and CSS which are not very useful for coding a game. To solve this I'm going to gain knowledge from the people within my course and online. I used the dimension for the default unreal character then added some extra size to prevent it from feeling squished but for some reason the model was to small so I had to enlarge it.
When I first got told about unit 7 I got told to use my living space, so I took pictures of my room, sketched my houses layout and then made a online version.

Map layout

These are the Mood board and mind map.

I taught someone in my class how to use noise modifier to benefit their work. on unit 7 as well as showed some multimedia students how to use some features of 3Ds max and unity.
Progress update 22/01/2018
From where I am now all I have to do is to record and add triggers which I have already made a script for, I've assembled all the model for the room.

Elements I changed from my plans and why
I was going to model my PC and add it to the scene but Then I realised that my PC was a black box with curved edges what didn't have much too it.
I was going to use a meme of stuff being turned in to anime people but I desired that I'd raver just use anime I've watched as that was more relevant to me.

I've set all the triggers and have pretty much finished, but I encountered issues which will be to timely to fix so I'll leave it to show a more personal touch instead of a professional touch, some of the issues are, that the recording picked up stuff from my environment and I forgot about a recording I needed. The sounds in the environment were a buzzing from my light/PC, messages from discord that I hoped didn't show up and my family in the background who I could not hear from my room. And with That I have finished this game the only thing left with this is to test with the VR
head set. depending how I feel I may make some hand models so then in VR you can move your hands in VR.
Major update
VR is going to take to long to work as I didn't check the scale of my map and to fix it involves shrinking the room to very a very small size and then adjusting all the lights, models and trigger box and that's just to make it possible to move, another issue is that you can't see the controllers and teleportation doesn't want to work, so to circumvent the whole issues that VR comes with with a map scaled way to big, and make it possible to use more then keyboard and mouse, I've made the controller work with the game.
Another problem I had was audio being to low so I normalised the tracks in order to make them more louder, I also still have to add a extra set of vertical and horizontal input to make it possible to use the mouse to look around the room.
